WOW! Amazing replica of one of the earliest entries into the Military's ventures into the air! This open cockpit fixed wing plane designed by Boeing was first introduced in flight as a prototype in 1932.
HISTORY:
Famous Ace Pilot Charles Older was a member of the First American Volunteer Group (AVG) of the Chinese Air Force in 1941–1942, nicknamed the Flying Tigers, was composed of pilots from the United States Army Air Corps (USAAC), Navy (USN), and Marine Corps (USMC), recruited under presidential authority and commanded by Claire Lee Chennault. The shark-faced nose art of the Flying Tigers remains among the most recognizable image of any individual combat aircraft or combat unit of World War II.
Charles Order was the third highest scoring ace of the American Volunteer Group (the "Flying Tigers")- after his fighting / flying days were older he returned to teh US and got his law degree from the University of California, Los Angeles and was later the judge in the Charles Manson murder trial.
