Nach dem Zweiten Weltkrieg kam es zu einer erstaunlichen Kreativität auf dem Gebiet der Keramik. Die westdeutsche Keramik dieser Epoche von etwa 1950 bis in die 1980er Jahre zeichnet sich durch ihre experimentellen Oberflächen, leuchtende Farben, verspielte Formen und Texturen aus.
