The design of XTC puts its lowered Centre of Gravity closer to the plane of the stylus, depending on your cartridge height.
This better matches the rotational forces imposed on the cartridge which should improve tracking.
XTC is available for a number of arms, and has consistently had positive effects.

The counterweight itself is lacquered brass, with an aluminium collar and stainless steel set screw.

| Dear xaudiodesign, Just wanted to let you know the counterweight arrived safely, thanks for the packing (and the hex key). I have fitted it up and when set to 2.0g tracking weight, the c/weight is around 10mm clear of the damping cup. A fair way forward, however I believe that closer to the pivot point is better, so it looks as if the standard+ is good for this setup. I have had one listening session and to be honest I am astounded at the improvement in my system. I have been struggling to get any weight and cohesion in the phono setup, and the XTC has brought everything together in a big way. I sat through several albums, each one I was able to sit back and enjoy the music without hearing things that needed "fixing'. My brother Tim recently bought your counterweight for his new Funk FXR11 tonearm to which I had
the pleasure of an evening with hooked up to my modified Rega 300 bolted to a hot rodded
Audionote TT2. Suffice to say my tracking (Which was already very good) improved greatly sounding
like my tonearm had suddenly grown 3 inches! Wow! I won't bore you superlatives, suffice to say it is
the most cost effective upgrade I've ever heard. Reluctantly I returned it to my brother and vowed
to have one ASAP!

Tried out the counterweight last night. Amazing improvement over the stock CW in every way. Most noticeably,
as they say so often, a veil is lifted. Everything is less tentative. Bass coming through more solid, percussions
have the final "ring" of the real things, more depth and soundstage anchored more accurately. These are all preliminary
impressions after a few hours of listening. I have no hesitation recommending your CW to Hadcock owners if these
prelim impressions hold up & I think they will.
