We searched for hours finding no other examples with photos.
Serial number(s) E 38743 same on camera back and inside the camera.
Patent date: Pat. Dec. 29, 1908 on wooden take up spool.  It is not
known if this is the original spool that came with the camera, however
the date is consistent with the production dates found on the internet.

We contacted a German collector who looked in his 1913 camera catalog and suggested that our camera probably is "an Icarette of a different year than 1913. I can't tell, though, if it's older or newer than 1913. It would be logical that it's older, and that Ica later added the prism finder to this model and made some other minor changes too. But it's also possible that yours was an economy model manufactured during the war years, or perhaps (less likely) even as late as the depression years following the world economic crisis."
