Diese außergewöhnliche Serie wurde anlässlich des Jubiläumsturniers der Copa America 2016 in den USA herausgegeben.

Die Copa América Centenario war eine Sonderausgabe der Copa América um die Ausspielung der südamerikanischen Kontinentalmeisterschaft im Fußball. Das Turnier fand – anlässlich des 100-jährigen Bestehens des südamerikanischen Fußballverbandes CONMEBOL – erstmals außerhalb von Südamerika statt und wurde in den USA ausgetragen. Neben den zehn Teilnehmern der CONMEBOL nahmen auch sechs Teilnehmer der CONCACAF am Turnier teil.

Nur für das Jubiläum haben die (süd-) amerikanischen Fußballverbände dieses Turnier terminiert und ausgetragen, obwohl auch 2015 eine Copa America ausgespielt wurde und eigentlich ein Vier-Jahres-Rhythmus eingehalten wird bei den Turnieren. Die nächste reguläre Copa America ist dann wieder 2019, in Brasilien. Sieger der Copa America 2016 wurde übrigens Chile, im Finale gegen Argentinien, genau wie schon 2015!

Die Serie umfasst insgesamt 452 Sticker, die in ein 64 Seiten dickes Album eingeklebt werden können. Die Displays enthalten jeweils 50 Tüten, in jeder Tüte sind 5 Sticker und eine Teilnahmekarte in Stickergröße, für das „Panini Best Player“ Online-Voting (April bis August 2016) des Copa America 2016 Turniers (siehe Fotos in der Bildergalerie), also trotz Extra-Beilage 5 Sticker zum Einkleben pro Tüte. Insbesondere die Glitzersticker und Wappen sind in ihrer goldenen Umsetzung hervorzuheben. Eine tolle Serie, die bisher aufwendigste und schönste der Copa America-Serien von Panini!

All the world football stars are coming together at once-in-a-lifetime Copa America Centenario 2016 tournement, held in the United States from June 3-26 and are featured exclusively in the Panini Official Sticker Collection.

The Copa América Centenario was an international men's association football tournament that was hosted in the United States in 2016. The competition was a celebration of the centenary of CONMEBOL and the Copa América, and was the first Copa América hosted outside South America.

The tournament was the 45th edition of Copa América since its inception in 1916. It was held as part of an agreement between CONMEBOL (the South American football confederation) and CONCACAF (the football confederation for North and Central America and the Caribbean) as a special edition between the usual four-year cycle, and featured an expanded field of 16 teams (an increase from the usual 12), with all ten teams from CONMEBOL and six teams from CONCACAF.
