Buy this now and finish the project as you wish ....... Offering Schwinn Superior / Paramount Frame & Fork

Okay this one has an interesting history.

The story of these Superiors, is that they were closing down the Chicago based Paramount Shop ('79-'80) and had an excess of Reynolds 531 tubing
and lugs which became Superiors between 1981-1983.  There were no Paramounts made during this period and the main Paramount builders actually made these as well .The only difference between these Superiors and the Paramounts is that most Superiors lack the chrome accents on the frame , stays and fork ends.

We have installed original Paramount decals on this bike.  They were sent to me at my original Schwinn dealership 30 years ago.
Seems that head tube badge had been previously removed and sold, the Paramount decals are NEW and on the down tube.

The serial number reveals this is a  early 1982 Superior.  It is different from the fillet brazed Superiors of the 1970's.
This is lugged with lovely ornate lugs and made with Reynolds 531 tubing , Nervex lugs and Campagnolo dropouts
with the Prugnat BB shell.

* this frame has a rare Paramount - Chain Stay Protector (from our original shop)

Seat tube approximately 21 inches, top tube approximately 22 inches, measured CTC.

With a BIN - we will include a complete extra set of decals -
Two down tube Schwinn Paramount in either Black or White ,,
One Olympic Rings seat tube decal and one Reynolds 531 decal

What makes this frame unique ?
If if was sold as a bike it was sold with a complete Nouvo Record group and not Gran Sport as per spec.
Most probably it was sold as a frame :
Why ???

Notice this frame has :
A pump peg
A second set of water bottle braze ons &
Braze on shift lever bosses
Derailleur guides UNDER BB -- Cable stop under Chainstay

TMK - most "regular - stock" superiors have none of the above
** The frame does have rack/fender bosses on both front and rear dropouts **

Don Mainland built these Superior / Paramount  frames without a doubt a extremely small production run.
There is a chance that some of them indeed were pre-built Paramounts some say these are doctored up 1978/9 P-13's

** On purchase frame will be  :
professionally prepped & seat tube honed **

# when we approached the people at Waterford                                                                 we were told this restoration would cost $700.00
