“Fans of Alvarez will notice points of departure on the Blues51... In place of the company’s trademark bridge shape, there’s a traditional low-profile bridge. And the Blues has an arched rosewood back, uncommon for a flattop guitar. Both guitars boast solid high-grade Sitka spruce soundboards, supported by back-, rather than forward-shifted, scalloped X bracing, in which the axis is proximal to the bridge, designed in the service of structural integrity and sonic projection.” – acousticguitar.com

This particular instrument has some finish imperfections and blemishes on the binding and around the sound hole. There is also a small area on the back of the guitar where there are small dimples in the lacquer.  We have included close up photos of each of these imperfections. There are also some very light surface scratches on the face of the head stock that we were unable to capture on camera.  Aside from what we have described, this instrument is in mint condition.

How Does It Play?

We have given this guitar a good pro setup to make sure it is ready to go. This is a resonant little 00-body guitar. The tone is sweet with just a touch of a vintage-voiced nasal midrange. And the projection is impressive any way you cut it. Plus the LR Baggs pickup makes sure the guitar can be heard in any stage environment!

A new Guardian Cases hard case can be added to US orders for $75 or to international orders for $95.
