Rustic Handcrafted Bluebird Birdhouse
This handcrafted bluebird birdhouse features a star shaped entrance guard and a fence made from strips of reclaimed wood.
The birdhouse is just over 14 inches high, 5-1/2 inches wide, and 6 inches deep. One side pivots opens on weather-resistant screws for cleaning out the nesting box. Another screw keeps the door securely closed. There are openings under the roofline for ventilation, and the corners of the floor are notched for good drainage.
The entrance hole is 1-1/2 inches in diameter, and the interior floorspace is 4 inches x 4-1/2 inches.
The outside of the birdhouse is sanded and then white-washed with stain before the fence is added. The roof is stained blue. Only the exterior is stained, with the interior left natural for the safety of the baby birds.
Mount the birdhouse on top of a pole or to a post. A small starter screw hole is positioned on the back of the birdhouse (please note: mounting hardware is not included).
