Important Notice: Although this chassis is brand new, I am offering it on a 'Spares or Repair' basis for parts. When testing these I have noticed that some of them run noisily and some have got a jammed gear, whereas others run fairly quietly, but few run really nicely. I have been told that this is due to a manufacturing problem with the axle drive gear(s) which can result in these gears splitting which apparently causes the noise or in extreme cases the splitting can cause the wheels to jam. The part is apparently Rivarossi part number LM05010DD. Thankfully they are extremely cheap to buy. You can usually find them for sale by a simple internet search.
For those who don't know, HO and OO gauge locos and rolling stock run on exactly the same width track.
I have separately listed a box and a super-detailing kit, (HRS2448B), within my other items. Also there are some pantographs listed as a pair within my other items.
Feedback from one of many buyers: Really useful. Fits any e646 that is based on the 1993 Rivarossi model perfectly. Also may work with Lima/Rivarossi e656 either directly or with a bit of work. Gears may need replacing, as stated, but this is a common problem on all these models and replacements are available. A+++++
This UK Free Post 'Buy it Now' is for a Brand New, but 'Spares or Repair', DCC Ready, Rivarossi HRS2448 articulated motorised chassis, with the twin metal pantographs, as pictured. This chassis has a switch on the top so that power can be fed from an overhead supply, as well as just from the track.
I understand that the extremely large motor situated at the centre of this articulating chassis is common to a great number of Rivarossi locos. As you can see from the photos it is very well appointed, and though it is not easy to tell, it does feature both red and white directional LED lighting.
