Description: Hornby Drive Axle with 28 Tooth Drive Gear and matching Worm Gear for older Hornby and Triang 0-6-0 locos and maybe others. You can look this up on Hornby Service Sheet 113. I think that the gear will also fit Hornby's Turntable R410, but I don't know for sure.
This gear (S9573), axle (S2373) and worm (S9575) are not suitable for the later Hornby 0-6-0 locos which have a 40 tooth gear (the ones which have an unfortunate habit of easily getting stripped). The worm gear's centre hole is 2.2 mm in diameter, so it will fit the X03 motors, and others with a 2.2 mm diameter output shaft.
We are including the axle gear and shaft together since it can be quite difficult to push fit a new gear onto an existing axle. The ends of the axle are splined, as your wheel centres will be.
We do also have this gear and axle assembly, separately listed without a worm gear.
