100 yd extra strong

DuPont KEVLAR®  Thread

for large Streamers + Salt Water Flies

100 yds TEX40 DuPont® KEVLAR® Thread (not the cone in the picture!) shipped by Priority Mail

Extra strong 360 Denier / TEX40 thread (that's between an "A" and "B" thread), 3 ply, nominal tensile strength 10 lb.

Ideal for fly tying (large streamers, salmon flies, saltwater flies, etc.), this thread is at least twice as strong as regular KEVLAR® fly tying thread.

Diameter 0.008 inches / 0.20 mm

Also excellent for all your sewing needs where a stronger than normal, more abrasion resistant and/or heat resistant black thread is needed. This is a very fine thread with about twice the strength of a Nylon or Polyester thread of the same size. Please understand it should only be used where a very fine/thin thread and extra strength is needed. Use TEX60 or larger thread for all general or heavier applications. Don't expect miracles, it's not called "Wonder Thread" ;-)

KEVLAR is heat resistant up to 750° Fahrenheit (begins to decompose between 800° F and 900° F). There is no flame or fire proof synthetic fiber, so KEVLAR® Thread will decompose if you hold it into a flame (mean temperature of a candle flame: 1,500° Fahrenheit!).

Free shipping after first 100 yards, so whether you order 300 yards, 600 yards or 1,000 yards, you pay the same shipping cost!

TO AVOID ANY CONFUSION: The main picture shows a 8.000 yd cone.

You get one generic spool in generic packaging with the thread you order, so either 100 yards or multiples thereof, in one continuous length. Obviously, every spool looks different, depending on quantity ordered.
