“South African knifemaker André Thorburn creates fine, custom hand made knives with perfection. The blade is perfectly centered and silky smooth -- easily opened with one hand using the discreet and ambidextrous flipper toggle. It features a unique opening system Andre developed called a roll opening. This modification on a flipper is tremendously easy to use and does not catch when stored in the pocket. The blade uses the IKBS (Ikoma Korth Bearing System) pivot system. This mechanism, which was originally designed to fit balisong knives, uses ball bearings to create exceptional action with no blade play.

The drop point, recurve Panzer 36 stainless blade is meticulously hand satin finished in the grinds and mirror polished on the flats. Panzer 36 is a martensitic stainless steel with high hardness, high wear resistance and good corrosion resistance. It is cross rolled in production to cancel out residual stresses from the manufacturing process. It has only recently begun being used by knifemakers and has gained significant acclaim from South African makers, where it has quickly found popularity. Mastersmith Kevin Harvey has been involved in the initial testing of Panzer 36 and describes it as having 'excellent edge holding and toughness.' The blade has been hollow ground for an easy to maintain edge, with jimping on the spine to ensure a secure thumb purchase.

Black G10 scales have just enough texture for a secure grip. The anodized sculpted 3D, titanium clip is mounted for tip-up carry. The handle is completed with blue anodized titanium liners. Exceptional fit throughout. Perfectly centered blade with smooth action.
