Introduction:
Just to give you an idea of my background,  the first SLR camera I bought was a Pentax MX (mid 1970's) and I have been using Pentax gear ever since.

I buy used lenses locally here in Japan, where I live.  I then inspect them carefully, service them if required, and test them thoroughly before I offer them for sale here on eBay.  Due to the age of many of these vintage lenses (some as old as 40 years or more), most require servicing.  The types of service I perform will depend on the condition of the individual lens, but typically I disassemble the lens to clean the internal optics of dust, haze and fungus.  I also re-cement pair of elements that show any signs of separation.  The aperture blades are given an inspection to make sure they operate correctly and are free of oil.  The focus helicoid is given a new lube job if needed.  More complex operation, like adjusting the focus shift of a zoom lens is also done if needed, even on an inexpensive, consumer grade item.

I service the lenses with extra care and to the best of my ability, so that you can be confident in your purchase.

Item condition:

  • Used and serviced.

Optics:

  • No fungus.
  • Some very fine, hairline scratches on front element that will have no effect on image quality..
  • Very light clouding that is extremely difficult to detect under casual observation and will have no effect on image quality.
  • Some dust particles inside the lens, but does not affect picture quality.  Perfectly normal for a used lens.

Exterior:

  • No dings.
  • No  scratches.
  • Very light rub marks.
  • Virtually no paint loss.

Function:

  • All functions operate normally and smoothly.

I have described the condition as accurately as possible.  However, you may notice other small marks and scratches that I missed or considered to be insignificant.  Please keep in mind that this is a used item, some as old as 40 years or more, and as such will show signs of wear.

For your peace of mind, this item has gone through the process of being stored in a container with fungicide formulated especially for cameras and lenses.  (Note: The fungicide is NOT included with the item sold.)
