NGK Iridium technology spark plugs utilise the latest in technology and also laser welding construction techniques. This enables a centre electrode size of just 0.6mm! The smaller the size of the electrode the less voltage is needed to jump the gap- this means more spark energy to ignite the mixture.
These plugs are heat rating 9 which is 3 steps colder than the stock plug. This is good for modified engines and can help prevent detonation or pre-ignition caused when the spark plug tip gets hot- causing a 'hotspot'. Colder plugs transmit heat away from the plug tip faster to avoid this. For more mildly tuned engines we also stock NGK 7 and 8 rated plugs, as well as the stock 6 heat rated plugs.
