I am selling my 35mm f/2.5 f/2.5 color-skopar II lens for Leica M. I originally purchased this lens for primary use on a Leica CL. I have obtained the 40mm Rokkor, so I don't need this lens.
This is a nice compact lens. It makes a slim profile camera/lens package. It's less than 2" long, takes the classic 39mm filters, can focus to about .7m. Some have compared it to the pre-ASPH 35mm Summicron. I found it to be sharp and easy to use. Focus is less than a 1/4 turn, and the traditional tab on the focus ring allows the lens to be focused quickly. There is no play in the focus or aperture ring. Everything is tight and all actions are smooth without any sloppy movement.
I've only shot film, so if you're a digital camera user, you'll need to check your camera specs so you can get the most from this lens. With film, it rendered average contrast images with a nice, out of focus background.
The lens is being sold with the Voigtlander dedicated lens hood for this lens. All the original boxes and literature are included.
I'd rate the optics at 10. I can't detect any dust internally on the lens when a flashlight is shined through the rear element.
I'd rate the body of the lens at an 8. There are a few specs where the blacking has worn away. Slight brassing on the lens mount, but no scratches.
NOTE: at some point, this lens was bumped up against something. There are two points on the lens body where there are slight dimples. These render themselves as minor edge damage. If you look at picture #7 you can see the marks. They do not interfere with the movement of the focusing ring or the aperture ring. They are difficult to see but have no negative effect on lens performance, but they are there. I would not sell this lens if there was any problem. I am offering the lens at a below market price.
