vintage Alvarez A-800 mandolin w/new TDK hardshell case

Great sounding hand-carved Alvarez F5 built in Japan in the 60s / 70s to compete with the higher priced American instruments which had begun to decline in quality.  To my eyes and ears these vintage Alvarez F models easily rival if not exceed the quality of new Chinese products in the same price bracket or higher.  

Slight playwear -- a few dings and scrapes, gold-plating worn off tailpiece.  

Very slight fretwear.  

Tuners work smoothly.  

Missing pickguard.  

New ebony bridge.  

All other parts original. 

Comes with Lakota bison leather strap and electronic tuner.

New black TDK hardshell case.
