A souvenir dinner menu and program, for November 18th 1961 dinner honoring J.F.K., and signed by thirteen important attendees and entertainers at the event including singers Frank Sinatra and Jo Stafford, California Governor Edmund G. Pat Brown, California Senator Alan Cranston, California Congressman Harlan Hagen, Treasurer of the United States and Democratic National Committeewoman Elizabeth Rudel Smith and several other public figures. Previously owned by California Congressman Clyde Doyle. The program measures 9 inches wide by 12 inches tall, with pages 8 1/2 inches wide by 12 inches tall, staple-bound with soft covers. Binding tight and solid. There is a hand-written notation on the inside front cover that reads "President Kennedy Said -- Gov. Brown is committed to program." The program includes 40+ pages including dinner menu and many interesting half- and full-page ads for businesses that presumably contributed to Democratic fund-raising efforts including Flying Tiger Line, Good Humor, Miss Water Maid, and many others. The exterior covers show light soiling, a few more prominent spots or marks, some creases and wear to edges including a couple of tiny tears (< 1/4"). Interior pages very clean. Upper right corner of last two pages is lightly creased. Puncture mark to the back cover with matching small indentations to each of the ad pages, diminishing in prominence as you turn pages from back to front. A couple of stains bottom edge and bottom right corner of covers. An amazing collectible for fans of Frank Sinatra or John F. Kennedy or for followers of California political history.
