Description:

Timing Belts Timing Belts have been used on camshaft and injection pumps on automotive engines for around 30 years. Dayco® manufactures timing belts for OEM’s utilizing the latest technologies in design and materials. The basic function of a timing belt is to transmit synchronous movement from one driven shaft to another . This is achieved by “meshing”between the tooth of the belt and the tooth of the pulley. A timing belt has a complex structure and is made up of three elements. A rubber compound (usually highly saturated nitrile) that makes up the toothed part and the back of the belt. Nylon (sometimes a double layer) is extremely flexible and used to cover the teeth. High modular fiber glass cords, which are resistant to tensile stress and will not deform give the belt its outstanding stability. All Dayco timing belts meet or exceed OEM specifications.

Timing Belt in Oil System In 2007, Dayco introduced the first Timing Belt-in-Oil system for automotive applications, a technological breakthrough that directly addresses customer focus on lower emissions, increased fuel efficiency and less tension on the drives. The Belt-in-Oil system, which includes Dayco's patented belt and tensioner, weighs less, has lower stretch, reduces friction and is quieter than traditional chain-driven components. For our customers, this translates into higher engine performance, lower emissions and improved fuel economy. Built inside of the engine and in direct contact with engine oil, the Dayco Timing Belt-in-Oil also reduces engine packaging, resulting in fewer individual components and lower weight.

Timing Belt Kits Why replace the timing belt alone? Worn or wearing tensioners, pulleys and idlers can cause a new timing belt to fail in a very short time. A timing belt failure can result in costly engine damage. Dayco® Timing Belts, when replaced in conjunction with the tensioner, idler Pulley and oil seals, restore the optimum operating conditions for the timing drive system. All Dayco timing kit components meet or exceed OEM specifications.

Timing Belt Kits including Waterpump

DAYCO prides itself on suppling quality OE replacement parts to the automotive trade, our waterpump kits are no different!

Many vehicles use a water pump driven by the timing belt, where this is the case DAYCO recommends replacement at the same time as per the manufacturers timing belt change regardless of when the water pump was last changed.

Water pumps are a critical part of the vehicles cooling system, replacement is usually time consuming and expensive work, sometimes as much as 90% of the cost to change the timing belt kit, new drive components can add extra tension to already worn water pump bearings causing the water pump to leak onto the belt resulting in contamination and further failure, possibly even severe engine damage, so it makes sense to do it right the first time.

All DAYCO water pump kits use only OEM quality water pumps and comes complete with all essential components in one box, so don’t let a failed water pump compromise your timing belt system replacement or your reputation, ask for a DAYCO Timing Belt Kit complete with water pump and know your covered!
