Seatpost is a New Quality  Steel Reproduction ( Choice: Chrome or Painted Black ) Vintage Schwinn Size 13/16" Diameter or or 20.7mm  Diameter Seat Posts. The Seat post is approximately  14" over all length,  the tops ( your choice of 5/8" or 7/8" Top ) is about 2" of the overall length. The Seat Post is more of a Reproduction of the Long Stingray Seat Post. Works  for Stingray Applications, and  other Vintage Schwinn Applications, Especially when you would like more length that the common 9" vintage Schwinn seat post. This Seat Post Fits most All Vintage Schwinn Bicycles from 1935 to 1980: Prewar and Postwar Balloon Tire Bikes like: Phantom, B-6, Hollywood, Panther, Hornet, Spitfire, DX, etc..., Middle Weights Bikes like: Corvette, Panther, Typhoon, Jaguar, Fleets, Fiestas, etc.., Stingray Bicycles like: Krate, Fast Backs, Deluxe, Junior, etc..., Light Weights like: Varsity, Suburban, Breeze etc... This Size is Common to Almost all Vintage Chicago Schwinns. This Post WILL NOT work with Schwinn Paramounts and Superior Bicycles, Schwinns with Lugged frames, Schwinns produced in any foreign land, and I am unsure about any Schwinn Reproductions or New Schwinn Bicycles. This Size was also used on some Non Schwinn Bicycles.

Seat Post Tops OG 5/8" or 7/8": 5/8" is the Original Vintage Schwinn Size Top, This top will work well for you if your Vintage Seat has a 5/8" clamp and still has good serrations to hold the seat pan clamp solid without movement. 5/8" is no longer supported and we do not have nor can get seat pan clamps in this size. 7/8" top this is a newer standard used on saddles made today, it is also the size of replacement clamps we can get to add new life to your old worn out Vintage Seats and Saddles. We offer the 7/8" top seatpost and Seat Pan Clamp combos as our one stop best suggestion to update your Vintage Schwinn Bicycle.

Seat Post Style and Color: The Seat post comes in  Straight, Lay-Back, and Lay-Back Supported in Colors: Chrome or Black Painted Steel. Chrome has a tad more durable finish since the painted black can scratch. The Lay-Back back supported will have more strength, I do Not know why the support is the way it is but it is sturdier. The unsupported Lay-Back inserts lower than the supported because of no support. Use Common Sense with Lay-Back seat posts, You Probably want a longer or a lay back position because your bigger, Bigger means more weight and more leverage, and maybe you go off a curb and bam you get even more bend, Think about It. I am upward of 200 pounds and prefer Supported Only, although I have had no problems with unsupported, but most of my unsupported Lay-back seatpost use has been used with Banana Seats that had additional Sissy bar support.

Flat Rail or Round Rail Seat Pan Clamps for use with 7/8" Top Seat post Only:  The Flat Rail Clamp is common to a Vintage and New Cruiser / Comfort / up right seats & saddles. The Flat Rail Clamp is a replacement for Vintage Schwinn Seats and Saddles Like: Mesinger, Troxel, Person etc, they also can be used on some newer Cruiser Bike Seats.  The Flat Rail Clamp attaches to Flat Seat Rails that are around 7/8" wide and  approximately 1/8" thick. The Round Single Rail Clamp is  common  Vintage and New Road Bike Seats, Some Antique Leather Saddles, and Some Newer Cruiser Bike Seats. The Clamp attaches to round seat rails that around 7mm or 1/4" in Diameter.

Always make sure the Seat Clamp is firmly tight and should not move before use. Seat Post should be inserted a minimum of 3", before use you should always inspect your bicycle for damage, don't force the post as your bike may have rust or a post stuck in it that needs to be cleared, use grease to protects from seizing and rust. I have supplied you extensive accurate info on this item, it is always recommended you measure your existing post to be sure and to have a good general knowledge of bicycle mechanics.Your Choice of Clamp Style and Color from the Menu..
