REAL Kentucky Straight Bourbon barrel head from a 15 gallon bourbon barrel with REAL used steel horseshoe mounted to head. No joke - the real deal, real Barrel Head. Not an imitation like others.

Features:

• full bourbon barrel head

• Clear coated to preserve the wood and the inner head char

• Real cleared steel horseshoe cradles the bottle.

• Precisely spaces stopper bores

• Large recess for Blanton' bottle

• soft feet on underside.

• Cleared sides to preserve the soak line. This is the darker line where the bourbon soaked into the wood.

~16” diameter.

Most people enjoy "earning" their way to finding and acquiring the 8 different stoppers by way of enjoying the drink over the years, much in the way the bourbon takes time to age. It feels great to place the final stopper. But if you want the stoppers it WILL be $40 on top of the price. Which will have to be handled separately from this transaction.

You simply can't find this Blanton’s display.

You get an added bonus with every stave. I provide a personally authored high-quality pamphlet that details and educates the reader on the features that can be seen on their barrel wood. Many people dismiss it as a simple "piece of wood”, but this will educate you on the construction and features of a Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey Barrel to match your stave. I want the recipients of these pieces to know about what they are buying so they can share the conversation about the display with others. It details barrel construction, components, charring, aging, soak line, dumping, and more !

I spend a lot of time preparing this. The underside is pocket hole joined to keep it tightly together. The head is also made of staves that are doweled and held together by the barrel hoops. Without this structure the heads come apart in staves (planks). The pocked hole joints keep the unit tight. The loose charcoal is removed as this is a sooty mess. The unit is lightly sanded to smooth the soak line. Finally the entire. Thing is clear coated with acrylic to not change the wood color. I then add some felt pads to protect the surface you sit it on.
