Kobo Mini e-ink reader running   XCSoar 6.8.10, preloaded with UK terrain map, UK airspace map 2018, and  waypoints file. Despite the fact that screen resolution doesn't match that of for example Glo HD, it still proves to be a reliable budget instrument, or a "get me home" backup.

Readability in full sunlight and great software software makes it a truly impressive piece of kit for any gliding activity.

Professionally converted using high quality Global Top GMS-G6 GPS + GLONASS chip (also known as "Titan 2").

Side by side comparison shows how GMS-G6 locks on 5 more satellites than “good, old MLR”. This is partly due to receiving signal simultainusly from GPS and GLONASS satelites, but also due to high gain of the receiver. All this helps to improve accuracy in difficult conditions.

Battery life in FLY mode exceeds 12h.

Screen area: 101mm x76mm

External dimensions: 133mm x 102mm

Weight: 120g

I am a professional electronics technician and guarantee top quality workmanship. I will help to sort any problems relevant to the modification, but I can’t provide any warranty for Kobo base units, as manufacturer’s warranty is void due to modification. Good news is that Kobos are very reliable.

MLR unit is shown only for comparison.
