The LM3886 is a truly amazing amplifier IC, capable of delivering up to 68W, with extremely low THD and sporting many advanced features such as under/over voltage protection, thermal protection etc. This board multiplies these advantages by up to a factor of four!
Board dimensions: W 120mm H 50mm.
You will need the following low-cost components to build this amplifier:
4x LM3886 amplifier IC.
4x 0.1R 5W 1% metal film resistor.
4x 4.7u 50V electrolytic capacitor.
1x 3.3uF 50V electrolytic capacitor.
3x 100uF 50V electrolytic capacitor.
2x 20.5k 0.1% metal film resistor.
2x 21.5k 0.1% metal film resistor.
6x 1k 0.1% metal film resistor.
1x 8.2k 0.1% metal film resistor.
1x 10k 1% metal film resistor.
1x 3-way 5mm terminal block.
1x 2-way 5mm terminal block.
1x PCB mounted RCA socket.
You will need to attach a heat sink as the LM3886 is a powerful chip and dissipates a lot of heat. Please note when attaching the heatsink, the LM3886 backplate is at V-.
Obviously you will also need a way of powering the amp up. You are strongly advised to download and read the BPA200 datasheet (AN-1192 Overtureā¢ Series High Power Solutions) as the supply voltage varies depending on the speaker impedance:
You will need a minimum of dual-polarity 365VA transformer and suitable dual-polarity ac-dc board per channel.
You will need access to a soldering iron.
The datasheets for the LM3886 IC and BPA200 (bridge/parallel) configuration can be found very easy by Google search.
IMPORTANT - INSTALLATION BY QUALIFIED PERSONS ONLY AS MAINS ELECTRICITY IS INVOLVED.
