Here is a really old 400 ft 16mm home movie with 150 ft of film dating back to 1930 based on the Kodak film symbols seen along the edge of the film. Also written on the film canister is "Ganges". The person who filmed this was either "Virginia Creed" an author or one  of her travelling companions. Virginia Creed wrote several books about travel which can be found online by doing a Google search.  The content is excellent for its age and was very well filmed showing life along the edge of the Ganges River in India filmed from a small boat. The man in the one picture I put up may or may not be Douglas Fairbanks Jr.

The most interesting footage is the funeral pyre of three people who were being cremated at the time they were filming - a tradition that still exists to this day along the river.

This film is in excellent condition with no real issues at all other than the leader is long gone which is a minor fix. Thanks for looking and be sure to check out the other movies I am selling this week. I will combine shipping for all orders in the USA.

In another film I sold from this lot I purchased - I did image comparisons on Google for actor Douglas Fairbanks and director Victor Fleming as they were filming at the time a documentary called "Around the World with Douglas Fairbanks" which was released in 1931.  I did find a good match for both men so I am confident that Douglas is in some of these movies and since the "Creed" family were friends with Douglas according to the family that owned these then I have to believe that they accompanied him on this film tour. The tour started out in Hawaii followed by Japan, Siam (Thailand) China, India, etc and I have home movies from most of the locations where they went so these films are even more interesting than just your average home movies.
