Amazing Antique Vintage Shell Necklace

Hand made by piercing the natural shells

 and then painstakingly threading them

 Made for the early tourist market

the necklace is 78 cm long

and threaded on plain cotton thread

the shells are tiny - the brown ones being approx 8 mm long

and the cream shells being approx 3 mm long

 some of the shells have a small amount of damage, 

but these damages were incurred from before the shells were collected

(natural damage as the shells were rolled about in the sea)
