High-voltage coil by datasheet needs DC 12V/24V on first coil to ignite approx 15-30kV on secondary.

It have built-in circuit-breaker relay that allows to make impulses of HV on secondary coil, so you can just plug battery and go on! Look to not work too much with voltage bigger than 12V because its heat.

Actually its very old designed automobile coil from Kamaz, Ural - but can be used for gas boiler or DIY, tesla-coil projects etc. Here is some story from internet:
