Unframed aviation art print "Malta Bastion" by Mark Donoghue.

Description:

After a dawn patrol, 126 Squadron pilots Flt Sgt Adrian 'Tim' Goldsmith, RAAF (foreground), and Flt Sgt Patrick 'Paddy' Schade, RAF, return to their Malta base in April 1942. Between the two pilots they would claim around 24 Axis aircraft destroyed in the defense of Malta.

Goldsmith would add four more Japanese aircraft in the skies over the Northern Territory, Australia, to finish with a total of 16 aircraft destroyed.

Schade was killed in July 1944 when his Spitfire collided with a Hawker Tempest while pursuing a V-1 flying bomb when flying with 91 Squadron. He had destroyed 12 aircraft and two V-1s at the time of his death.
