To open the loft once the catch is fitted there is a loop which you twist 90 degrees. We recommend using a pole (not supplied) for ease.
You can get a metal rod up to 6mm in diameter and bend at one end to form a hook. Alternatively, you can use a length of wooden dowel with a small screw thread hook fitted in the end of it.
