Contains 44 sepia photographs of English designed and manufactured aircraft up to 1934. The photographs of the aircraft are grouped into R.A.F. Machines, Record-breaking Machines & Civil Machines. For each aircraft there is a photograph on the right hand page and a description of it on the left hand page. With chapters on RAF machines, record breaking machines and civil machines, featured aircraft include: the Blackburn Perth, the Fairy Seal, the Hawker Hart and the Airspeed Courier [first plane to be built in the UK with a retractable undercarriage]. For each of the 44 featured aircraft there is an accompanying page of text describing the features of the plane. It really is an interesting little volume.

The book is tightly bound in a light blue cloth cover, with blue titles on the now browned spine. A few marks to cover and back cover. Foxing to page edges, endpapers, and first and last few leaves and minor foxing to some pages scattered through out. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.
