Taken from Mr. Wood information sheet from 1974:  Gerald Wood is a native Barren County, Kentuckian.  He was born on January 6, 1956.  Gerald still resides near Glasgow with this family in the Mt. Hermon Community.

Gerald developed an early interest in Art, even though he did not recieve formal art education training until his senior year at the newly construction, Barren County High School.  His art training under Dexter Dowles, also an artist with limited edition prints, was centered on drawing and painting.  Gerald's primary interest was his painting of birds.

This is the Artist's first print in the Wildlife Series. The Cardinal is an acrylic oil painting on canvas.  The painting was completed in the summer of 1974.
