1860's $ 5 Citizens Bank Of Louisiana Shreveport "Remainder"

This $5 note was produced for the branch of the Citizens Bank of Louisiana located in Shreveport during the 1860's, but was never actually issued. The obverse features the name of the Bank, as well as the denomination and obligation of the note. All of the vignettes are highly detailed, and are clear representations of the time put into the designs seen on early American currency. The reverse displays a print of red ink, the bank title, and the denomination. It was designed by the American Bank Note Company. Because it was never released into circulation, the signature and date lines remain empty.
