This Combined Splitter / RCD Protected 4-Way Adapter Cable is intended to provide power under your awning where the Supply Bollard may not feature an RCD.
THIS ADAPTER IS NOT SUITABLE FOR USE WITH MAIN HOOK-UP CABLES THAT ARE BUILT USING 1.5mm sq CONDUCTOR CABLE, ONLY 2.5mm sq HOOK UP CABLES. 1.5mm sq CONDUCTOR HOOK-UP CABLES ARE ALREADY AT THEIR MAXIMUM PERMISSABLE OPERATING CONDITIONS AND EXTENDING FURTHER WOULD CAUSE OUTPUT VOLTAGE TO DROP BELOW WIRING REGULATION REQUIREMENTS. IF YOU ARE IN ANY DOUBT ABOUT THIS, PLEASE MESSAGE US DIRECTLY.
This Adapter is also available WITHOUT an In-Line RCD where that is not required (eg where the Supply is already RCD protected).

The Short leg is built from 2.5mm sq conductor Arctic Grade Cable, maintaining the full 16A rating through to your Caravan.
The longer, 5m, extension should be of sufficient length to run from your Caravan Inlet Point, under / around your Caravan, to your Awning. This leg is built using 1.5mm sq conductor Arctic Grade Cable which can be used with your existing 25m long 2.5mm Hook-Up Cable and still operate within BS 7671 (18th Edition Wiring Regulation) Volt Drop limits.
The 230v 13A IP65 rated (Waterproof) In-Line RCD is installed approximately 1m from the Caravan Hook-Up Connector. It is of the 'non-latching' type so will need to be manually reset if power is lost.
The 230v 13A 4-Way Adapter is FUSED at 13A. An ESSENTIAL feature as, if used with severlal high-power appliances, or under fault conditions, it would be possible to draw the full 16A available from the Supply Bollard, causing overload and overheating.
The 4-Way Adapter is NOT protected against the ingress of water so should either not be used where puddles of water or excessive condensation might be present. Ideally, it should be positioned within a 'Dry Box'.
Also note that, whilst the 4-Way leg of this Adapter is rated at 230v 13A, the TOTAL power drawn by your both your Caravan and this Adapter obviously cannot exceed 16A.
From a technical standpoint, we only ever use Austrian branded 230v 16A Connectors to BS/EN/IEC 60309 and Masterplug / Permaplug 230v 13A Plugs and Sockets. The In-Line RCD is a Masterplug brand item. These are all of exceptional quality and not like some of the cheap and flimsy 'Far Eastern' sourced items.
SHIPPING
We use only Royal Mail for our shipping.
Shipping Second Class is included in the majority of our
listings. This is a 2-3 day non-guaranteed service and fulfilment is wholly out
of our control. Often, deliveries are achieved in as little as 1 day but, in very
rare and exceptional circumstances, this has been known to take over 1 week.
Where an improved service is required, a First Class option
is available as you go through checkout. This is a 1-2 day service but, again, non-guaranteed.
TRACKING
We are extremely limited by Royal Mail in our abilities to
track shipments. A reference number will be provided as soon as an item is released
for shipping, but Royal Mail can only track when a delivery (or delivery
attempt) has been made, not progress through the delivery network.
We have no means of accurately confirming the exact
location or delivery date through Royal Mail and, in the past, their only
advice in attempting to locate delayed or lost items is to ‘wait 15 days and
file a lost item case’.
SPECIAL DELIVERY
Where delivery is time critical, a Special Delivery option
is available. This is a next-day by 1:00pm guaranteed service with deliveries only
on Monday to Friday.
eg… an item ordered on Monday should arrive by 1:00pm
Tuesday… an item ordered on Friday should arrive by 1:00pm the following
Monday.
We can not offer a next-day service for Saturday delivery.
As the
majority of our product are bespoke, cut off for the Special Delivery option is
1:00pm.
