Linwood Mine is one of the largest under ground limestone mine's in the
USA. Most of the crystal pockets in this mine get destroyed due to
blasting and get destroyed to keep the miners from taking specimens out.
Every now and then , a spectacular pocket will be found and is saved as
was this Barite Pocket.
The Whole Specimen is 5 inches long , 2 5/8 inches tall and 3 5/8 inches wide at the widest point.
The Largest Barite Crystal is 3 7/8 inches long and 2 1/4 inches wide.
It is in Great Condition with a contact on the bottom of this specimen on the largest barite where it was attached to the host matrix that don't hurt the looks.
