BIO: Major Herbert Wittmann (Deceased) WWII 1933-1945 Luftwaffe Staffelkapitän of the Stabsstaffel/ Kampfgeschwader 53 ELITE "Legion Condor". Spanish Civil War 1936-1937. Took part in the following WWII battles: Battle of France, Battle of Britain, Operation Barbarossa, Battle of Białystok-Minsk, Battle of Brody (1941), Battle of Kiev (1941), Battle of Smolensk (1941), Battle of Moscow, Battle of Stalingrad and Battle of Kursk Recipient of two Knights Crosses the first for his actions on November 23rd, 1941 and the second for his actions on February 11th, 1945. The Knights Cross was Germany's highest award for valor during WWII.
