In 1952, at the XV Olympiad in Helsinki, B. Andreev, shooting from MTs 12, took second place in the individual competition.

In 1954 in Caracas, at the world championship A. Bogdanov and V. Borisov with the MTs 12 rifle won the world championship, and the MTs 12 rifle, along with the MTs 13 rifle, was recognized as the best free rifle. 

At the world championships in Caracas, Moscow and Cairo (1954, 1958 and 1962), when shooting with the MTs 12 rifle,  the USSR team shooters invariably occupied the first places and received the title of world champions and the challenge prize of Switzerland.

From rifles MTs 12 and MTs 13 Bogdanov at the world championships in 1954 in Caracas (Venezuela) set 6 world records and won 6 gold medals. In 1956 at the XVI Olympiad in Melbourne, in 1960 at the Olympiad in Rome, in 1964 at the Olympics in Tokyo, Soviet shooters won gold and silver medals

CALCULATION OF THE CLICK STEP:

  For the calculation it is necessary to remember that the cost of a click is directly proportional to the length of the aiming line.

  Initial data:

  Displacement plate for 1 click - 0.043 mm ( 0.0017")

  Sight line  length ,  860 mm (33.86") (MTs 12)

  Shooting distance, mm 300,000. (300 meters - 328 yards )

  Center of impact offset = (0.043 * 300000) / 860 = 15 mm. (0.59")

  So  when shooting at 300 meters  one click of the sight will  move POI at the target by 15.0 mm
