JOE GAGAN legendary design.
inspired by the amazing, throaty, musical classic wah, the maestro boomerang.

*wow! after 1600+ sold, we now have V2, now made on our improved, exclusive PCB.

NOW with  frequency select dipswitches, up to 7 possible selections. talior to your exact taste.

Classic, real maestro boomerang wahs are hard to find in good working condition, many have the wrong pot, or have other wear issues since they are 40+ years old. this wah nails that tone, and even more if desired.

now, you can get the cool boomer tone in a super reliable new package.

features:

-all new or exc condition used parts.

--NEW upgrade - this Faux Boomer is made with modern red fasel , which has great specs in recent years. same toroidal consturction as the original EL RAD found in vintage boomer wahs.

-trubypass using special mini tru-bypass switch.(better action and super long life)

REAN , old style, like switchcraft real open frame jacks - we upgraded to get rid of the inferior plastic jacks. 50+ year durability on the jacks is now standard!

-new 'smooth pot', our military grade, old style RV4 spec heavy duty part, specially selected for reverse use in modern crybaby shell ( vintage boomerangs have their pots on the opposite side, taper sweeps the opposite direction and does not work right)

no buffers, this gets the sound back to the original '60s unbuffered 'pure' wah tone.

-ON Semiconductor low noise, vintage gain transistors specially selected for correct maestro BG2 low gain- perfect vocal lows, rich mids & pure-sweet highs.

SUPERIOR TUNING:

-4 trimpots:
pre volume, volume 1, body ( mids) and bias trimmers for volume matching and full growl. this allows you to tailor the response to any pickups or guitar, bass ,etc.   ~~~anything from stock boomerang sweet watery sweep all the way to swampy, nasty growl is all available in the settings.

-frequency select dipswitches, up to 7 possible selections.vintage wacka wacka to modern deep-throaty-vocal tones.
see expanded tuning guide below

NOTE - we tune each FAUX BOOMER one at a time using our multi amp rig. our stock settings are marked on the trims and switches, so you will always be able to return to our favorite tune for these. no worries!

- newer style, lightly used ( brand new in most cases) black dunlop wah shell, may have very minor cosmetic issues but still look 'excellent'.

-includes new hand painted "FAUX BOOMER logo plate on front- each one unique and decorated by gagan himself.

no risk trial, return for a full refund less shipping. no hard feelings, we do not want you to keep it if you don't LOVE it.

the feedback on these has been awesome! people are loving the tones:

"After years of back n forth between a standard Cbaby and a Boss Vwah and wondering how Robin Trower got such a vocal throaty wah tone, I stumble upon Joe Gagan's Boomerang wah demo vid...and found what I have been looking for all these years! So of course I bought one, and I couldnt be happier to finally hear out of my amp what I hear in my head! Install was easypeasy too, instructions describe how to set the trimpots but they were already dialed in anyway. Very impressed all around, excellent work Mr. Gagan! I cant say enough about it, it just sounds so good. Trower made me love wah but I just couldn't find that sound in any wah I tried. this is such an unfortunately obscure circuit that beats any Vox/Crybaby in my opinion." --Elliot D

"It sounds great! Honestly the best wah I've ever had. It's exactly what I was looking for and the I love the sweep with your pots!" --jared from TX

"Best wah I've ever played or owned." -- Sean D, owner of LOVEPEDAL effects.( he has bought 3 of them so far!)

PLEASE NOTE - we reserve the right to substitute parts of equivalent or better quality at all times, we are constantly improving our quality and low noise operation in wahs.

tuning notes:
set trimmers in this order:
1. bias. should be near full CW for 60s boomerang tones.
2. pre vol
3. body ( this sets the mids. stock boomer is 1/3 up from full CCW )
4. vol 1. match your bypass tone , or set a little higher like some players prefer.

dipswitches are progressive,
stock is # 1 only
a little deeper is 1 & 3 on, next deep is 1 & 2 on, deepest is 1,2,3 all on.
thinner than stock is 2 & 3 on, super thin is # 2 only.
the above is good if the growl factor is already where you like it.
if you want more or less growl than my stock tuning, set the BIAS before changing the dipswitches.
set gain AFTER Bias, and VOL last for overall volume setting.
handy tip: there is a unique treble bleed in the faux boomer input section. similar to a treble bleed on the guitar volume
special note on spectrum enhancement using the treble bleed function:
to activate MORE treble bleed, turn gain DOWN and  pre VOL UP.  this lets more highs sneak in around the gain trimmer, straight to the circuit. it adds more spectrum to the entire range,it isn't just for more treble. one possible downside is, with high gain going INTO wah, you may hear too much high end in your heel down wahing.  the gainy signal blasts through the treble bleed like a ram with all that signal.
