Beautiful fitter (base), a vintage bottle-green aluminum metal based for street lamps, ready to mount on post or on top of a stone post at end of driveway or anywhere your need a light. Can put a nice LED bulb in it for a subtle nightly glow, or a brighter bulb if you want the light to shine out. You can buy your own colored or clear globe on ebay or elsewhere.  

Would fit on 4" post or 3" sleeved post if you have an adapter.

The outer diameter of the globe fitting area is 10”. So the max the base of a globe can be is 10” for it to work with this fixture.

These are very nice commercial units, not what small depot or lowes or even some of the lookalikes on eBay that are very small once you receive them. Once you put these up, they will last a long time in residential setting. 

If you have your own globe, then the minimum opening on your globe needs to be greater than 7" to fit over the gray aluminum piece in the pictures.
