Working Principle:
Turbulence created by gas or air forced through a small orifice generates ultrasonic sound. Ultrasonic sound occurs when the atmosphere leaks into a vacuum vessel or when a pressure vessel leaks to the outside atmosphere. Ultrasonic sound's frequency is related to the size of the orifice which ultrasonic sound passes through, but usually the frequency is about 40kHz. Ultrasonic sound is very directional, this directionality is used to pinpoint the origin of the ultrasonic sound, the leak point.

HOW TO USE
1. Connect the headset to the headphone jack of the leak detector, then wear the headphone.
2. Rotate power knob clock wise, the" POWER" light is on. You can hear"ticking tone" through the headphone, adjust the volume of the headphone to a suitable level.
3. Adjust the sensitivity to a desired level with the sensitivity knob. Keep turning the knob to the right. After hearing the high-pitched sound, turn it slightly to the left until the high-pitched sound just disappears and becomes a slow ticking sound, the sensitivity is the best at this time.
4. Move the probe of the leak detector slowly along the area to be tested to detect leaks or gaps. When there is no leak, the LEAK indicator does not light up, and the earphones emit a repeated, slow ticking sound. When the ultrasonic leak detector detects the leak, the "LEAK" indicator lights up, and the frequency of the ticking sound from the earphone increases. The closer the probe is to the leak, the faster the frequency and higher the pitch of the sound in the headphone.
5. After you locate the leak, repair it properly and then test again to verify the repair effect.
6. After the test is completed, turn off the power button.
Note:
1. There are many factors involved in the ultrasonic leak detection, such as the pressure within the vessel under test, hole shape, hole size, temperature etc. In some cases, the ultrasonic sound caused by leak is very weak, so you should set the DY26A's sensitivity to the highest level at the beginning of leak detection.
2. If the detected ultrasonic sound is too intense so that it is impossible to pinpoint the leak because the" ticking tone" is too high in frequency, you should decrease the sensitivity with the sensitivity knob.
3. In noisy environments, you can decrease the sensitivity appropriately to exclude the disturbance caused by noise.
4. When detector detects ultrasonic sound, move its probe around the suspected leak to determine whether the detected ultrasonic sound is from the suspected leak or from other areas.
5. Because ultrasonic sound attenuates rapidly when it travels over distance, we need to move the probe as close as possible to the suspected leak, remember to decrease the sensitivity if necessary. During location, move the probe slowly.
