This attractive mint set contains a 20c coin you won't find in your change.

Australia has been producing mint year sets ever since decimal currency was introduced in 1966. The coins in mint sets are just the same as those we see in circulation, but are in perfect condition.

2007 was the Year of the Lifesaver here in Australia - the first lifesaving club in the country was founded at Bondi Beach in NSW in 1907. At the launch of the coins at the RAM late in 2006, the Commonwealth Treasurer, Mr Peter Costello stated "It is fabulous that the Mint has chosen such a uniquely Australian theme."

The commemorative 20c with the lifesaver on the reverse was not released into circulation, which means onl6 67,643 were struck.

The mob of roos one dollar coin that is included in this set was also not released into circulation - it's only available in this metal in the proof sets (it is also available in silver and gold in the proof sets of those metals.)

The coins and sleeve remain in as-issued condition.
