Up for sale here is this power supply/protection board recap set for a Pioneer SX-828. This is for both the power supply board underneath as well as the protection board next to it. This is all the parts you need to rebuild a Pioneer SX-828 power supply/protection board. Often the old parts are weak and failing. We will make them new again!

This kit includes the following:
Power supply kit:
8 capacitors

3 transistors

7 diodes (1 zener, 1 dual diode)

1 resistor (330 ohm 3W, replaces the 330 ohm 2W that burns the board)

2 replacement heat-sinks with insulator pad, screw, plastic washer

Protection board kit:

6 capacitors

7 transistors

1 diode (for the diode mod)

Each kit is bagged separately for ease of installation.

These are all high-quality brand new genuine parts. The capacitors are Panasonic FC, Nichicon PW, and Wima film caps at the correct uf ratings and the same or higher voltage ratings and the transistors and diodes are the correct OnSemi/Fairchild subs for the originals. These are extremely high-quality parts, the same ones I use when I rebuild Pioneer gear.

I will include a surprisingly well-written instruction sheet, but this is a moderately complicated job, and you should know what you're doing and have a decent soldering iron, as well as a little heat-sink compound. This kit may not fix your SX-828 if it has other issues, but it will definitely help it run better. If your issue is that you have a huge pop through the speakers when you hit the "low filter" switch, that is leaky capacitors on the preamp board, and that kit is available here. I also have a phono board kit if you need to rebuild that.
