Offering a superb Woodblock/Print by Hideo Hagiwara. Dated 1969. CLOWN 1 series. Low number 14/50. This series is very scarce and one of his most celebrated. This woodblock exhibits an organic movement and flow of energy. Vibrant colors. Abstract shapes float. Silhouettes of Clowns delight. Joyful tone of childlike mystery and vision.
Hagiwara is one of the best known Japanese artists of the 20th C. He is a master of woodblock prints and Japan's senior, most admired and respected woodblock artist. He expanded the limits of Woodblock printing with his masterful technical innovations.
His prints are held by major museums and private collections worldwide.

Hagiwara has expanded the potential of the woodblock not only by his own inventive techniques, radical to customary approaches, but also by careful examination of the traditional approaches where he has discovered previously untapped resources. We generally ship USPS Priority Mail, Parcel Post or Fed Ex. If the item fits in a Manila envelope, it will be shipped First Class.
We wrap all our items very carefully. If items are damaged in transit, we will provide the necessary paperwork for the buyer to file a claim. In order for a claim to be filed, buyer must keep all original packaging and take photos of the damaged item(s).
Payment must be received within three days at the latest.
