Most of my vintage/antique auto parts items come from warehouses that have long gone out of business or have been on our shelves for a long time.  Parts may have surface rust from sitting on the shelf.  Most are in original manufacturer packaging, and some may have dried grease from the manufacturer.  Seals will likely need to be soaked in oil before installing to soften the original seal (common with vintage parts).  Roller bearings may need to be cleaned with solvent and repacked with grease (again, common with old bearings).
