This belt buckle is from an older estate - the lady came to me today to sell this; it had been in a drawer for many years. I cleaned it and polished it with simichrome. The Niello (the black background) is in beautiful condition, very dark as it should be.

The Buffalo Nickels are an integral part of the design - I can't remove them to see the date on the back. You may know that this nickel was struck by the United States Mint from 1913 to 1938. Of course, this does not mean that the belt buckle is that old - but it could be that old.

There is no maker's mark or any silver marks on the buckle - no marks at all. It is anyone's guess what kind of metal it is made of. I assume that it is solid sterling silver but I can't be sure. Many older pieces of Native American Silver were not marked even if they were sterling silver. This is a Navajo style bracelet and I assume that it is a tribal piece but I have no way to verify it. You will zoom in on the photos and use your knowledge to decide for yourself what it is.

Approximately 3" x 2-3/8" - good condition without breakage or repairs that I can find.

I will wrap it carefully for secure shipment to your address.
