Plastic can melt or break when they get brittle. Depending upon which globe you choose it has either metal, ceramic or a special high density silicon mounting base. ---The wires are silicon coated to better insulate 23,000 volts from the ballasts (Just like spark plug leads) ---The wires at the base are covered by a silicon/rubber boot and not cheap heat shrink. Makes the back of the globe flexible and fits those tighter lights. ---The glass is precision cut and UV protecting for brighter light and eliminates fading of headlight lenses. ---The glass stalks are seated in ceramic ---The best grade Xenon gas is used in the globes You get a choice of colours and it is referred to as Kelvin - although a person of physics will tell you that Kelvin is a measure of temperature when it comes to HID globes all the following options are of identical heat and isentical brightness. A bigger number does not mean brighter but rather the light gets bluer. All of our HID ballasts are waterproof, produce a sine wave AC output, are digital, dont cause static on your radio and reach full brightness super fast. But above all they are reliable. Our HID kits generate just 15% more heat than a conventional incandescent bulb of the same watts. So a JTX 55w HID kit generates less heat than a conventional 65w bulb (which is normal high beam for most cars) and so there is basically no additional heat to speak of. Also with JTX kits there is no fading or problems with lights, even with plastic headlights. Also watts are watts so a 55w HID ballast pulls less power than a 65w bulb and so wiring does not need to be upgraded. Our 150w kits all come with an appropriate JTX wiring harness. And yes a 70w kit is twice as bright as a 35w kit, but having said that 35w HID is still exceptionally bright - In fact, Mercedes, BMW and Audi are all just 35w HID.
