Up for sale here is this preamp board recap set for a Pioneer SX-828. This is for the board that is attached to the tone controls. This is all the parts you need to rebuild a Pioneer SX-828 preamp board. Almost all SX-828s suffer from the same problem: there's a huge "pop" when you flip the low filter switch. This is caused by leaky capacitors on the preamp board. The old parts are weak and failing. We will make them new again!
This kit includes all 20 capacitors and 6 transistors. These are all high-quality brand new genuine parts. The capacitors are 105° Nichicon PW, 105° Nichicon KL, and Wima film caps at the correct uf and the same or improved voltage ratings. The transistors are the correct Fairchild/OnSemi subs for the original transistors. These are extremely high-quality parts, the same ones I use when I rebuild Pioneer equipment.
I will include a surprisingly well-written instruction sheet, but this is a fairly complicated job, since you will need to pull the faceplate/knobs in order to get access to the preamp board, and the preamp board has solder on both sides, so it can be tricky to work on. You should definitely know what you're doing and have a decent soldering iron. I do have a power supply/protection board kit and a phono board kit available for the SX-828.
