G. M. Philips was at one time the principal of The West Chester State Normal School, which is now West Chester University.

The photograph was taken in West Chester, Pennsylvania by E. S. Marshall. He was located at the corner of High & Market Streets.

It measures: 4 1/8" x 2 1/2".
