Published by Macmillan and Co, Ltd in 1901, this is de Qyincey famous of his battle with opium addiction.  460 pages with marbled end-paper and a beautiful bookplate from Charles C. Auchincloss. Red boards tipped in gilt lined red pebbled leather.  The spine is wrapped in the same fashion.  Gilt titling and spine decoration with 5 raised bands on the spine as well.  All top page ends are gilt.  A beautiful copy.   See photos.
