What are Powerline Adapters?
Powerline adapters provide a convenient way to extend a wired connection from your router without the need for long cabling around your home by using your existing electrical wiring.
They are a great solution if your master telephone socket and router are not in the same room as your TV and YouView set-top box, but they can also be used for other devices that can benefit from a wired connection but aren’t near your router (i.e. laptops, smart TV's etc) and can help to eliminate Wi-Fi blackspots in the home.
Simply plug one adapter into a wall socket (not extension lead) close to the router and connect it to the router using an ethernet cable. Then take the other two adapters to the rooms required, plug them into wall sockets and connect each one to a device (laptop, TV box, Smart TV, games console etc) using the other ethernet cables - broadband signal will then be passed between the adapters via the electrical wiring in the home.
