Fresh pieces of ginger pickled in syrup from the Fiji Islands. Ginger grows in the warm, tropical climate of the Fiji Islands and is harvested when fully ripe. The ginger roots are then cut into 1-2 cm cubes and placed in a syrup bath made from cane sugar and water. When the ginger pieces are well infused, which can take a few weeks, the ginger pieces are drained and packed.

The ginger pieces naturally contain essential oils, resin acids and gingerol. The ginger pieces are rich in vitamin C, magnesium, iron, calcium and potassium. The ginger pieces from the syrup have a mild and spicy taste. The ginger pieces preserved in syrup are not as hot as sugared ginger pieces.

The ginger pieces come from controlled cultivation and are free of harmful substances. The ginger pieces have a shelf life of at least 24 months.
