In 1997, Michael Ciravolo of SCHECTER GUITARS met with several Asian guitar manufacturers at the Tokyo Music Festival and subsequently decided on a factory located in Incheon, South Korea for his range of Diamond Series Guitars. The Diamond Series was first introduced in 1998, and consists of all the non-custom, Schecter models. The Diamond Series is further divided into groups of guitars which share common design characteristics. 

Although there are a large variety of models available in the Diamond range, many are 'mixed and matched' parts from different Schecter guitars. For example, all Omen, C, Hellraiser and Damien basses have the same body shape, although some have set necks rather than bolt on necks, different finish colours, and different woods. However, on the whole, Schecter produce many different guitars from a smaller number of core parts. This mix and match culture has the benefit of allowing guitarists to find a Schecter to fit their exact requirements.

Some of the best known guitars made by Schecter are the 'C Series' in various configurations such as the "Hellraiser" and "Blackjack" models. Schecter is also a leader in the seven-string guitar market. Schecters Diamond series guitars have enjoyed a growing positive reputation through the use of quality components such as TonePros bridge products on non-tremolo models and Original Floyd Rose double locking tremolos on many of the six and seven string models. Many models also feature USA EMG or, like this example, Seymour Duncan pick-ups and Grover tuners.

This Hellraiser c7 cutom plus is a not really a heavy guitar weighing in at around a tad under 8lbs. Some Les Pauls can weigh in at 10ibs. The Body is Mahogany with a stunning Flamed Maple top and a really Fat fixed Maple Neck. The headstock on this custom has a little extra wood on the bottom with the Schecter Logo on it because there are only 2 machineheads on the bottom edge. Its a Glorious Transparent Black Cherry colour, letting the Flame Maple Top shine through, finished with a cream edging with Multiply Binding. The Hellraiser C7 is a super strat type shape giving it great access to the upper frets.

The body is relatively thin by 'strat' shaped standards at 37mm,  a standard USA Fender Strat is 45mm. It's very comfortable having a really nicely deep contoured (strat style) body with a second contour below the bottom horn to make upper fret acces even easier.

It has a really wide Rosewood fretboard with 24 Medium nickel silver frets and an unusual ( even for Schecter) Fretboard Pearloid Inlay. It looks like a dot with an overlayed pair of wings then overlaid again with a vector style inlay. The result is very pleasing to the eye!  Approximately 48 mm at the nut and 67 mm at the base of the neck at fret 24

Hardware is Chrome with a strat style string thru the bODY bridge (Hardtail Strat like) Bridge with 7 saddles. We believe that the bridge is made by Tonepros. Machine heads are 7 x Grover Chrome sealed mini sized units.

Pickups are Seymour Duncan designed HB-7B and HB-7N wired through a 3 way switch with a single Volume and Tone control. The Duncan Designed HB-7 bridge pickup is the 7 string version of the HB-102, which was modeled after the Seymour Duncan SH-4 JB™ bridge pickup. Alnico 5 magnets, wound hot like a JB, and sound very similar to one!!  Manufactured in Korea these HBs have a fat warm tone which is really complimented by the Hellraisers Mahogony Body and Rosewood Finger board. 

Sounds

On the bridge pickup is just sharp and and articulate, while the neck is mellow and warm.. but both can really get down and dirty with some overdrive.. this a superb rock/metal guitar which the pickups not being too extreme or screamy.
