KEROSENE OIL LAMP

This listing is for the COMPLETE LAMP. 

This is a very pretty lamp and in excellent condition. It is also very unusual as the French founts tend to be colourful and often intense while this is the complete opposite. The soft subtle colours of the fount matched with a base which compliments instead of contrasts is eye catching. It is unfortunate that the photos do not do it justice.

The spelter components of this base are in excellent condition - no chips cracks or splits and are finished in satin gold.  These can be painted, plated or decorated to suit your décor or if not to your liking.

The off white alabaster column is crack, chip and flaw free having no open veins or imperfection which are normally found in stone. There are a couple of tiny bruises which do not detract from the aesthetics. There is some colour variation which is to be expected.

The enamelling  (blossoms leaves & stems) are perfect with no loss, damage or signs of wear. This is unusual for a lamp of this age as cleaning tends to degrade the enamel. 

The blossoms are off white and pink tones. The fount is internally ribbed and has a subtle pale green hue around the centre which graduates to pink towards the bottom and the top.  These colours tie into the foliage and flowers.  Overall the fount has a slightly opaque finish.  

The original French burner is in excellent condition and will take a shade sitting directly on the burner lip or in a gallery.  

The Kosmos chimney, shown in all bar the first photo, is a replacement and in excellent condition - no chips cracks or fleabites.

If you are unsure of the accuracy of the displayed shipping cost please contact me BEFORE making payment because if, after payment, you find this component was more than it should have been I will not reimburse the balance.

Items which need extra attention/care (antiques, glass, delicate/fragile etc.) may require double boxing and therefore may cost more than the displayed shipping charges. The handling charge is to cover the cost of packaging etc.   I use recycled packaging as much as possible.

If Ebay's calculations are less then I will look to you for the balance.

Please note that I only use shipping methods which, as a bare minimum, include insurance and tracking . Unfortunately Ebay does not offer an option for Insurance so there may be an extra amount due to cover parcels above $100.00.
